police who responded firmly and swiftly.
The protest which lasted less than 30 minutes was organized by
members of JMM and TIBAI. It was staged at the PKR headquarters in
Tropicana, Petaling Jaya and was a near repeat of the rowdy protest held
a few week ago, when they had shouted vulgarities and thrown stones,
eggs and a traffic cone, resulting in 5 PKR supporters injured and
lodging police reports. 5 INJURED AS VIOLENT PRO-UMNO group, shouting vulgarities, threaten to burn down PKR HQ
This time, the protesters were fewer in numbers - less than 50 - and far more subdued. Even so, calls from their leaders to "rapat" or come closer could have led to scuffles with the dozen or so PKR supporters watching them from the front of the party office.
Anti-Anwar banners
Ostensibly, their intention was to protest against Tian, who is also the Batu MP, for not apologizing for having allegedly smeared the name of the policemen who recently died during the Lahad Datu intrusion.
However, the banners that they carried were of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, accusing of masterminding the Lahad Datu intrusion for which Prime Minister Najib Razak's government has been roundly criticized for mishandling.
