
PR leaders, however, said the rally, to be held at Padang Merbok not far from Dataran Merdeka, had nothing to do with accepting or rejecting the results but seeking a change in the Election Commission (EC) leadership.
This has signaled an apparent shift in objective from the first rally held in Kelana Jaya on May 8, which was about protesting against the alleged fraudulent election.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Tian Chua said the rally on June 15 is to call for the resignation of EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yussoff and the members in his panel.
“The rally is not about recognizing the results as there are about 30 seats in dispute. The law allows for a peaceful assembly and that is our intention.”
