I was shocked bythe statementKuala Lumpur police chief,DatoMohamedSallehreleaseda while ago.Among other things,the statementaccused theorganizers of issuing a directiveto provoke thepolice.Asthe officialspokesperson of the Black 505 rallies,Ivehementlydenythe allegations.The policecanevaluateall mypress releasesandreportsonall the gatherings. None havedirected anyprovocationorroughnessagainst the police force.
I amalso themainorganizer ofthe gathering at PadangMerbok tomorrow and am involved in allthe planning.At no time did we ever threatened any roughness against the police force,butinstead I could communicate well withthe Dang Wangipolice chiefACPZainuddin Ahmad.
As such, the statement issued by Dato'MohamedSallehisnottrueandgivesa bad impression ofmeas the organizer. Ihave instructedmylawyerstotakelegal actionagainstDato'MohamedSallehas his statement was untrue and defames me.
Ialsodefendmy statement made thisafternoonthat theorganizers had receivedan informalsignalfrom the senior police leadershipthatthe policewill co-operatetoallowthe rally to proceed smoothly tomorrow. Itrust this decision will be adhered to by all levels of leadership ofthe police as well as in the Home Ministry.
