But student activist groups and political parties are adamant that Sharifah apologise and debate the issue instead.

“I am not seeking an apology from Sharifah Zohra. That is not important,” said Bawani at a press conference organised by Coalition for Free Education (GMPP) in the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) today.
Bawani shot to fame and Sharifah to infamy after a video of forum posted on YouTube went viral.
It showed the SW1M chief berating the student when the latter raised the issue of free education in a forum last month at Universiti Utara Malaysia.
Bawani also requested that she is not made a hero.
“I am a common person. I am not a hero or an icon,” she said.
She insisted that the whole episode had highlighted the issue of students freedom of expression.
“There are three points I want to raise here. Firstly, university students have the right to express their opinion.
“Second, the university must be neutral. How can they allow an NGO to come in to conduct a programme that stupifies students?
