Only a handful turn up for anti-Zahid rally

PUTRAJAYA: Some 30 students staged a protest outside the Home Ministry this afternoon, demanding that Ahmad Zahid Hamidi resign in the wake of a string of arrests made on opposition politicians and student activists.
The students, who gathered there after the Friday prayer, held up banners that read “Polis untuk Rakyat”, “Pulihkan imej polis” and “Ahmad zahid letak jawatan”.
They demanded that Ahmad Zahid should resign as he has “failed to conduct himself professionally” and “keeps pinning down on anti-government people”.
Earlier today, Ahmad Zahid, when asked about the protest against him, said the students had no right in deciding his position as the home minister.
“I am not answerable to them. I am answerable to the prime minister. However I welcome their views on the police force’s image,” he said.
